Charts store the datasets on your 5X Managed™ Apache Superset and visualize data to perform analytics. Charts also lets you explore data from the overview and interact with data using its SQL editor to create the right visualization for your analytics needs. Users can associate multiple charts to a dataset. This page explains how users can interact with the Charts page.

Navigate to Charts on 5X Managed™ Apache Superset from 5X Operate. The key components are:

  • The header is where you can perform bulk operations, add and import charts.

  • The overview listing the charts currently on your workspace. Here, you can interact with the overview to sort, filter and perform actions on the current charts.

The overview lists the current charts on your workspace in a tabular or list view. The overview can be customized by filtering the rows and sorting the columns.

You can filter the charts by their column values including:

  • The chart name, type,

  • Dataset associated with the chart,

  • Tag,

  • Dashboard, to check the charts included

  • Favourite charts,

  • If the chart is certified, and To certify your chart, edit the chart properties in Actions.

  • Charts modified by users on the 5X Managed™ Apache Superset workspace.

The tabular view lists the charts by name, last modified, favourite icon and the three-dot dropdown menu for actions. You can check the overview by its column values in the list view.

You can delete, export and edit the chart from Actions on the overview. Select the three-dot dropdown menu next to the chart in the tabular view. If viewing by list, hover over the Action column of the chart to access the options.

  • Delete the chart by selecting the Delete icon and confirming. This action cannot be undone.

  • Export: When exporting the chart, the export file includes the datasets, databases and charts by folders and their metadata.yaml file in .zip format.

  • Edit the chart properties by selecting the Edit icon and Save. Chart properties include:

    • Basic information like the chart name and its description.

    • Certification details like certified by and details if the chart is certified by individuals or groups.

    • The cache timeout configuration for the chart.

    • The access owners select the list of users who can alter the chart.

    • Select and update the list of tags applied to the chart.

We recommend setting the duration (seconds) to -1 to bypass the cache. If the field is undefined, -1 is the default value of the dataset's timeout.
