Setup a Snowflake connection

Pre-requisites

• The user must have a Snowflake account.

• The user has 5X Managed dbt Core™ access enabled.

Snowflake project setup

To set up a Snowflake connection, follow the steps below:

1. Select Snowflake as your warehouse connection and click Next.

2. Configure your environment: Enter the Snowflake connection details to configure the default deployment environment and the required deployment credentials. Click Next.

You can access the credential details from the Snowflake account where you can set up the default deployment environment for the Snowflake connection.

Refer to Set up and manage dbt Projects for the next steps. Once your Snowflake connection is set up, you can begin working on Console by creating your development environment.

Parameters

Environment connection supports the following parameters:

Parameter	Description	Identifier
Account	The Snowflake account identifier.	account_identifier.snowflakecomputing.com
Role (optional)	The Snowflake user account role for 5X Managed dbt Core™ instance to assume when creating the connection.	-
Warehouse	The Snowflake virtual warehouse identifier.	<name>
Database	The Snowflake logical database name for 5X Managed dbt Core™ to access.	<database_name>
Schema	Snowflake schema name for deployment credentials.	<schema_name>
Username	Snowflake account username for deployment credentials.	-
Password	Snowflake account password for deployment credentials.	-
