What is Business Intelligence?

Data Visualization or Business intelligence (BI) leverages software and services to transform data into actionable insights that inform an organization’s strategic and tactical business decisions. BI tools access and analyze data sets and present analytical findings in reports, summaries, dashboards, graphs, charts, and maps to provide users with detailed intelligence about the state of the business.

What does Business Intelligence unlock?

The most common use case for BI is dashboards with the company’s key performance metrics. Dashboards can pull together available data into charts and graphs that give a sense of the immediate state of the company. Business teams can examine data to understand trends and derive insights by drilling down into more details. Self-service BI tools also enable organizations to make the company’s internal data reports more readily available to managers and other non-technical staff so that everyone can make data-driven decisions.
