Teams

Traditionally, granting access to a new member who just joined the team takes 30 min as you need to login to each tool and grant access separately. With team page, you can now manage your team access to all vendors from a single place and get visibility on how new teammates affects costs.

💎 5X is the source of truth for user access to your data vendors

Here are some examples of how you can streamline user access management:

  1. invite new users and grant them access to all of your data vendors from one centralized place

  2. use 5X as a unified source of truth for user identification, even if a user has different logins for different vendors

  3. see a comprehensive list of all users for each vendor, including non-5X platform users. This ensures that you have a universal truth for user access across all of your data vendors.

➕ Invite Users to your data platform

  1. Click “+ Invite User”

  2. Enter the name and email

  3. Select the permission for the 5X platform, refer to Roles and Permissions for more details

  4. Select the role & permission for each vendor in your data platform, 5X will create a new user for this vendor with the email you provided

  5. Click “Continue”, and you will see the billing impact of each vendor

🖇 Associate 5X users with their existing vendor role

Let's say you have four vendors set up in your data platform - Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, and Preset. Now, you want to invite a new user who already has an existing account with one of those vendors - in this case, let's say it's Fivetran. When you invite new users, you can associate their existing Fivetran account with their 5X account. This means they can continue using their existing Fivetran account while creating new accounts for the remaining three vendors as a new user.

  1. Click “+ Invite User”

  2. Enter the name and email

  3. Select the permission for the 5X platform, refer to Roles and Permissions for more details

  4. Select the action for each vendor

    1. if the user already has a vendor role, select “Associate Existing User”, then select the user id you want to associate with

    2. if the user does not have a vendor role, select “Invite New User”, then select the role you want to assign to this user

  5. Click “Continue”, and you will see the billing impact for each vendor. An association with an existing vendor account will have NO billing impact.
